Yuko Mohri and Christian Marclay will join forces for a one-night performance in the Barbican carpark in response to In Concert, Mohri’s solo exhibition in The Curve.

Mohri elevates what seeps, leaks and escapes containment. In this performance, her exhibition will symbolically leak out of The Curve and into the adjacent carpark: two pianos will self-play via the sound of objects salvaged from the Barbican carpark and activated by Mohri and Marclay.

Transforming found objects into sound is central to both artists’ practices, and many of the items used in Mohri’s site-responsive Curve installation were sourced in the Barbican carpark.

Two Pianos, Four Hands and Four Feet will be the latest in a series of collaborative sound performances by Yuko Mohri, alongside artists and musicians including legendary sound artist Akio Suzuki, visionary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, multi-instrumentalist Eiko Ishibashi and musician and producer Jim O’Rourke.
